day two

Nov. 29th
Day two. I get lost on an early morning japa walk in sandals in December. Took shelter of Goddess Kali after finding her card in the dirt. Little did I know she would appear two more times on this trip. Return to the apartment to a breakfast of artisan bread with cheese and olive oil, apple cider, biodynamic maple yogurt and fruit. Head out on 68 towards DC area with no directions. A phone call to Purusa and Divyambar turn our trip towards their new place for lunch. Beautiful Deities, excellent house décor, and organic lunch leaves us quite happy. We were waiting outside the house for half an hour not knowing that their apartment was in an entire different building. Kirtan led by Divyamabar devi on the tambora was a highlight accompanied by the jazzy mridanga beats of Purusa. Great hosts and we were their first guests! A little map quest guidance led us to Manish and Nisha’s place for an evening of bhajan and lasagna. Perfect Vaisnavas from perfect homes. They exclaim Gaura’s coming! We melt in joy as he arrives and leads us in Varsana melodies sung by Madan Mohan Prabhu. Many other friends take the evening to visit us here. While looking for their apartment I walked into a complete strangers home. I left in one piece. Gaura and Vrinda’s Daughter are very special. Revati became our photographer of the night and did a very artistic job.
